TAKE MY SUPER WONDER MIRACLE SUPER FO-//crash//
Ahh, I tripped.

Aaaa thank you!

That would be pretty cool. :) If that wave of new YT users keep streaming in...

Getting some good knowledge on Advent btw, thanks for that! At this point it's more tradition than education over here.

I've not had much luck past 950 so far, even with the influx of new NG users, but hope springs eternal.

Re: Advent and traditions and rubrics, the big help comes from a fiancé and a friend who are both well-versed in the liturgy and symbolism. Both agree, though, that when not practised and understood, traditions and rituals lose their significance — to which I say, maybe there will be new traditions and rituals that will remind us of that significance. As a musician, I feel like one of the actors in such changes. ?

Two and counting hey, there is hope! ;)

Hmm that's true. It seems improbable at this point that Christmas traditions will ever really fade and make way for something new, but if our way of life drastically changes maybe that's not as improbable as it seems... we've been maintaining a lifestyle in relative luxury for quite a few centuries at this point. These traditions based upon appreciation and struggle aren't as easy to see the same purpose in when we don't live life the same way our ancestors did either. All things considered maybe it's a bit strange things haven't changed more... as a musician though, do you mean you might be keeping this spirit of tradition alive? Conveying the emotions necessary to really appreciate the occasion...?

Music definitely changes things. And changes your outlook on certain things. But it seems difficult to go out with a message that people will all agree with independently when that message has been made clear - easier to simple drive people, or evoke a certain feeling. The direction it takes them would have to be in part in them from the start, I think.
