Before I talk, I'd like to say that I respect your opinion, but I don't necessarily agree with it.

I am a Geometry Dash player, but don't go crazy on me. I don't upload songs on Newgrounds, and I never plan to.

If a popular musical artist stops making songs downloadable for GD, I respect that. However, it will definitely cause a huge impact on the community.

Taking down a game, especially my favorite one, is very harsh. Please note that RobTop does care about these artists, especially Waterflame. WF has announced that he has released at least 2 tracks, specifically for GD, one of which is "Geometrical Dominator"; the YT video featured 2.0 Geometry Dash gameplay in the background. WF's other song for GD, "Striker" is also included. Waterflame says, "This was commissioned by Robtop Games and made for GeometryDash to be a custom level for the community!" in the description of his Striker video. Also, in the title, it even says, "Waterflame - Striker (GD custom map track)", indicating that Geometry Dash players know what the purpose of the song is before even listening to it. And again, a Geometry Dash image is in the background of the video.

Not only does this show the Rob cares about the artists, but that the artists (especially Waterflame) cares about not only Rob, but the GD community.

Although most song "piraters" on Newgrounds are Geometry Dash fans, not all Geometry Dash fans are guilty of stealing and reuploading artist's restricted songs. This especially includes Magic Touch's "pirated" song, Song of Sound, which was then taken down.

Again, please do not classify all Geometry Dash players as filthy dirty song-stealers.

Also, I agree; the community IS cancer; but not the whole. Mostly the people that don't upload on YouTube and dislike "GG" comments on GD are the bad part of the community.

Thank you for reading; please reply :)

I'd also like to add one thought: both Rob and Newgrounds have agreed that GD players MUST NOT and CANNOT upload audio on NG. Although I do agree with the message behind it, some people (like Etzer and Csx) are GD players, creators, and Newgrounds music producers. I respect this, it most likely is the best approach, but it will take down skilled music producers.

Oh yeah, Rob said this: "I also noticed that Waterflame and some other GD artists were accused of being against Geometry Dash in some discussions. I don’t know how this rumor started, but it is completely untrue. They have all been super supportive, they are the best.
GD artists are love, GD artists are life

I have felt the same way towards Geometry Dash as I did two years ago when I started playing. The game is something I love and adore, while on the other hand, the community is something I hate and abhor. This is one of the major issues that resulted, and thankfully, extreme issues are handled with extreme measures. All of this shows that the community is immature and has a false sense of entitlement, and that's unlikely to change.
I will still play, knowing that the community will eventually die off. It was fun while it lasted.

I like what you have doing @Troisnyx for NG, you express your "feelings" and your anger againsts GD and i totally understand why you want to take down the game, but there are some point that i don't agree

-the fact how you "trigerred" child:

ALL child are not like that, there are so many "child" that they know how many time it take to make a music (and i know this:It take me 2 months to make a personal music and that i lost it :'( ) and they respect artists choices about where they want to be posted, but yea sometimes, child are like this, but don't say that to ALL

Yes we know, our community is not the best but it not the worst and also,i respected what Robtop do to save the game from being banned

And a question:why don't you take down your petition,Robtop and @BrentHeMan have finish negociating and have an agreement,so i think we just need to wait for change in GD and NG

But there are many people that respect and care about problems on NG/GD

I hope we can restart the custom music system as a new base

NG is Love,NG is Life
GD is Love,GD is LIfe

(and i'm sorry if you cannot understand i'm not english)

This is such a bad move. Just because some GD users spam NG doesn't mean it's the entire game's fault. Besides, we can use another audio platform. You didn't have to take the game down. You guys are just haters of GD and you are making an excuse. GD players aren't "flooding NG with hate". That's a huge exaggeration. You're just killing the game when there's clearly a better option - to tell RobTop to end the relationship between GD and Newgrounds. This problem isn't being solved: people who have GD can still play it with no problem. And people will still "flood NG with hate" as you said. Even though we aren't doing anything major. It's like saying, hey, this guy is using our resources abusively, for 20 million people, so let's shut him down completely even though we could just tell him to stop.

I won't say many words, I am 2lazy to have a strong opinion into this.
I don't sign in, yet I don't like how gd acts.
I am really speechless how both sides reacted. I expected much childish and overreacted from gd, but there was much overreacting behaviour from ng side too.
Calm down, there is ALWAYS a peaceful way.

just found out about this. Fuck them. Signed and donated.

Good to see things have finally calmed down around here! Been trying to catch up since I was called earlier, but for a while it looked like it just wouldn't stop. So much hate amidst the positive and reasonable responses. Hope the threats died down along with the flood, and thanks for starting this thing! Seems to have been the one thing needed to really spark a change.

Also, there seems to be no user named @OfficialPandaEyes (mentioned in the post). Any idea what happened there? Typo? Account deleted?

The threats are still on YT. Will need help flagging the lot of them.

As for OfficialPandaEyes, it looks like the account has been deleted. I could have sworn that his account was under that handle. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Holy shit, yeah, I thought the hate was heavy here but YT's (as usual) on another level... flagged a bundle in the more recent videos, but indeed a lot to go through. Is there any option to delete comments yourself btw, as uploader?

Hmm Googled a bit, maybe http://pandaeyesofficial.newgrounds.com/ ?

Huh... That might be him then.

As for deleting the comments myself, no, I can only flag them much like you do.

GD is back on Steam. It was a good try people but not good enough for RobTop and the probably millions of players who didn't want it. 206 signers vs. over 1,000 signers. It's ovious to see who's winning. And no I'm not going to link the petition, because 1. You would probably NOT CARE and 2. I forgot the link.
I don't have a closing in mind but I have this:
It's not the game.
It's the horrible fanbase of stupid idiots.
That is all.

Hello guys! There is a video that is answering most of the things here, (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bBDbIx6DxQ8) and proves that this post has some issues, I also wanted to say why would Steam, or any other appstore care for a petition with less than 300 supporters that tells to remove a game that earns millions? There is even a COUNTER-petition for troisnyx 'petition' that has more than 5000 supporters! Ans watch the video before you reply to me please.

I consented to the making of the video, mate. Etzer was the one who contacted me. If you're ignorant enough to disregard future posts, on your head be it.

@Troisnyx wow, I did not know, but it was very well-made! Thanks for clearing things up, mate. :)

I hope that the next news post after this clears things up. In my News you will see something about me tackling myths perpetuated by the communities.

@Troisnyx do you mean 'GRAFT'?

No. Two posts before that.

@Troisnyx thank you!

Okay, so I'm half-and-half on this one. I'm a mild GD user myself- not part of the shit fanbase, but I do play the game. And what I think is that instead of the game being deleted from the stores, a good compromise would be unlinking it from Newgrounds, and keeping all current songs there. That way people might stop attacking users since there's no way anymore to get your songs on it.

That was the initial plan I had too. But a number of the staff wanted to give GD another chance, so they sorta met halfway with the checkbox to enable external API.

i think removing gd will spread more useless drama and conflicts..maybe just remove the audio portal?

GD was not even there when the Audio Portal was up, i.e. all the way back in 2003 -- yes, it celebrates 15 years of existence; can GD boast that much? No. I might also add, none of this shit happened until everyone decided to take advantage of the AP, by stealing songs and putting up stuff that didn't belong to them until NG got threatened with legal action.

Which should we get rid of: the abused people, or the people who take advantage?

Simple answer, really. It was quite obvious we needed to do something about GD. RealFaction took it down via DMCA on Steam, and everyone, you included, made a fucking hissy fit. Learn some common sense for once.

Hold on, wait... I just thought of a potential solution to this problem.
Remove the whitelist system, and INSTEAD make it so any songs have to stand without being removed for 72 hours before they can be used for GD. If it's stolen, it's easily going to be flagged before it's eligible, and if it's legit, people will still be able to use it if they want to. The only problem I could see with this is people disguising stolen songs as legit songs under a different title, but that's about it.

It still doesn't take into account that rulebreaking audio can be very much under the radar for 72 hours. We've discovered stolen songs years after they were uploaded, for example.

Okay, I am a GD player (Don't kill me, please), who has joined quite recently. I would just like to say that I am downright dissapointed with what these idiots did. I honestly can't believe that these stupid f*ckers would go so far as harrassment of extremely talented artists - such as Xtrullor or Dex Arson - and Newground Moderators.

Are they stupid?

If this petition was still up, I would have signed it. I couldn't care less if I'd loat my £2, it's just £2, and these morons need to be taught a f*cking lesson.

I'm seriously infuriated at this, so please excuse the profanities, I don't normally swear.

I would like to apologize for the now deleted comment i left 4 years ago

good job, you've finally finished the hit film called "a shitshow where both sides are scumbags", starring both Newgrounds and Geometry Dash.

if you can, please give this movie a 10/10 and an extreme demon rating on the side. thank you :))

Late to the party?
