GD had many, MANY chances to improve its reputation over the past three years. Not just RobTop, but also the community. Nobody did anything. Consider it a just wage for 3 years of fruitless damage control.

So because, a few people (relative to the playerbase of Geometry Dash) stole songs, that is enough to want to remove the game? Pathetic. I am no moderator, so I cannot claim to know what it's like to deal with this, and it seems to be very stressful to make somebody want to remove a game. This can be resolved in a way without removing the game. I am not smart enough on this topic to suggest a solution, but this is not it.
No worries, your precious little solution is on its way. BrentHeMan and RobTop are working on hotfixes, which, if you read previous comments, you would have known.
But the situation is pathetic indeed. X,000 songs to be deleted A WEEK due to GD-related audio theft at times.
(Before I start this I have to tell you that I'm german and my English isnt the best so sorry for any misspellings)
So I've been playing Geometry Dash since 3 years now, which was way before the newgrounds feature was added. I never knew what was actually going on here on newgrounds and I feel really bad now. I dont get why people cant just live with what they get and have to upload other peoples music or harass artists, that provide free music to them, to use in their game. I do agree with you at almost every point and I know that this community is cancer since I started playing this game. But I always thought it was a great feature to download songs from newgrounds and make a level, or see other people make levels with that song.
I know that the last 3 years must've been really hard for most of the people on newgrounds and that you probably tried to fix that problem for a long time, but I honestly don't think there's much you can do since RobTop never came out of his corner to help trying to fix this obiviously big problem in the past 2 years.
But there's one thing I dislike about this whole thing... it seems like everyone in this community gets thrown into the same "bad guy" position, just because some people can't follow the guidlines. Of course your probably think that the entire Geomtry Dash community is just full of cancerous little kids since almost all the harassments come from Geomtry Dash players, but there are also a lot of normal and nice people in this community and it really feels bad to be called "cancerous" just because I play a game I really like.
Even tho I agree with you in the most parts and I really want this problem to be solved, I'm not going to sign the petition. I think that's understandable since I dont want my favorite game to be deleted. I would totally sign the petition if it wouldn't be about taking down the entire game, but I don't think there's much to do there.
Sorry that I ended this so quickly but I dont have a lot of time right now to list other stuff.

Though it may have been taken down, I hear from @BrentHeMan's comments that he and RobTop are working on hotfixes for the game.
Also, @TomFulp is aiming to revolutionise the whole permissions system on NG, so when the game cones back online, there will at least be a bit more decency on all sides.
i think i can safely say i have come to love newgrounds. it is a great site and i 100% agree geometry dash has to get out of it, even with Gmd in my name (i regret it xd). all though geometry dash introduced me to this site, and got me to love heavy metal. however, it did introduce these people you talk about... looks like you won tho, gd is off the Appstore and Steam. it will go back up soon, but i hope for the best for this community, as these people will be gone from it.

And I think you'll find that i'm not the only person who thinks this. I thought long and hard about this petition and he hate it would give me. In fact, I had thought of it for a few months now. Maybe half a year. I have no regrets. Not anymore.

Also there are some cancers in the community, but thats a given, most of us at least try to be respectful ;3; Also I want you to know that we also spend alot of time on our creations too, you act like we straight up steal your music, give no credit, and spend 5 seconds building a level. My new level took a total of 20 hours to make and verify :/ of course that doesnt mean that you should let every gd player freely use your songs, but I do feel like you should stop generalizing us and treat us with a bit of respect.. Anyway Im sorry if we caused you any trouble, we wont use your songs if you dont want us to.
Use our songs with RESPECT. If you make a level, don't harrass people to make their music available on NG.

There are ways to solve this issue, removing gd however isn't, this is only going to cause mass panic in the community and some people may not even care about what ng is, or even be aware of ngs altogether.
Earlier I said we were just trying to help, and you said how so. Alot of us try to inflate the popularity of the artists we love, and making a level with their songs is just our best way of doing so. Just look at people like hinkik and hyperdimensional, both amazing artists that have blown up recently, and I am very happy for them :) I apologize if the community is harrasing you though, I was not aware of this issue..
Ask @Xtrullor himself for details. Also see the vitriol for yourself in the comments. This is what we mods put up with on a daily basis with the GD community. It is nowt new. I am immunised to it and come back wih uncharitable responses too sometimes.
