Wow.

I am a GD player and its great. I feel the pain that you must feel. I don't really use custom songs in my levels. Most of my levels are songs I have actually made and uploaded to NG. I love GD, and I completely understand why you would want GD down. Your prayers have been answered, and GD is no longer on Steam or the Play Store.

I feel sorry for Rubrub tho.

Anyway, if anyone read this, thanks for reading my thoughts.

Well, you guys should learn how to take hate, and ignore it. They can't do anything to your real life, isn't it?

Although at one point you are right, I do not agree with this request. I know that Newgrounds musicians have worked for hours to bring good music and that there are times that, as you say, they are treated like garbage and some users put music with Copyright only to be able to play GD with those songs that have not been published by the original artists. But it is not a cause to eliminate a good game of the stores. Besides that you are blaming all ... ALL that are belonging to the Community of Geometry Dash, knowing that they are not all.
Including RobTop (The creator of GD).

For that it touches other ways than trying to remove the game.

Besides they are signing a petition against yours in which they are winning because they are more people like me than I do not agree with this.

Also some of the artists that are known, were by Geometry Dash.

In short, this is not the correct solution.

After looking into the situation, i'm gonna fix my comment up better. It's a bit of both our faults that this is happening. Kids from GD think they can upload any song they want onto newgrounds to use for a level. Obviously this is illegal, but they don't know that. It's a bit of newgrounds fault that those songs are not taken down when they are uploaded, which leads to people mass producing them before they get removed. Not everyone who uploads illegal music is from GD, even though it may seem that way. Piracy happens everyday with peoples music and there may sadly be no way to fix it, but we can try our best for newgrounds.

Songs take alot of time to make, but so do levels. We put practical equal time into making levels as much as you make songs. In fact some people from the GD community make their own music for their own levels, which is amazing that they take the time to do something that awesome! If people are mad about not getting profit out of their music, then there is nothing we can do about that. Maybe there could be some sort of ad revenue system that every time a song is used in a featured level, that person would get revenue based off the downloads. That system could work, but sounds complicated and may take a while to code. If this is one of the reasons behind the takedown of GD, then honestly it was pointless because you could have contacted RobTop about the situation instead of strike it down.

Geometry Dash has helped promote certain artists in the community whether they want to belive it or ignore it. Like Xtrullor, DJ Nate, Waterflame, F-777 and now dex arson with GDW. It may not bring in a whole lot of people like you deserve, but it brings in a bit of a fanbase who is willing to support you. Even if they bring haters, this community is full of toxic kids from different cultures who don't understand respect and courtesy to people who put time into their work. I completely understand that point of view. However for their actions, you cannot blame a whole community for things a small portion of it has done. About millions of people have played GD whether it be the free or paid versions and those are millions of people who can turn into supporters if their music is advertised. Which is what creators do. We make levels for fun and our own gains, but we also promote songs from artists whether they be intentionally promoting or just using an epic song. I've used Simple Sight in one of my levels by RealFacton who has written some valid points in the comments below. TONS of people recognized it from the necromancer boss fight from castle crashers and not only did it make the level popular, it also gave some fame to him as well for making the song for the game. I try to use songs that are unpopular in GD to have some variety but also to promote new songs by artists to be used in GD!

We obviously know this is a problem, and hopefully RobTop and Tom can arrange something that benefits everyone in both the newgrounds community and the geometry dash community as well. This might cure some of the toxicity that has been created by both sides. I'd like to hear your opinion on this however since you the one who's been partially shit talking GD for this situation @Troisnyx thank you in advanced...

See, I was trying to be civil until you said this.
I noticed that you didn't respond to @fabman650 but everything he said is true. Every single thing. You're generalizing an ENTIRE community based off of this, saying that it's mostly bad with some good people. Not only that, but now you're passing it off as "the truth." What truth is there? You know nothing about the community except what they've done on Newgrounds. Is the song stealing inexcusable? Yes. Is the community bad at times? Definitely. However, users on this thread (including me) have linked you to the Geometry Dash Forums, known as one of the best and most welcoming parts of the community, where people are just as disappointed in the community as you are. Disappointed in the song stealing, the harassing of artists, and the useless reviews. If you didn't care to look at them, fine, but you have no right to say it's "the truth" that the community is cancer when you didn't even try to look at the good parts. Don't judge the community when you know next to nothing about it.

And by the way, RobTop HIMSELF tweeted that he was the one responsible for taking the game off of Steam, not you or your petition, or your mass flagging. So yes, he IS doing something. Even @brentheman was saying that he's in contact with RobTop and has been for a while. Just because he's not listening to you doesn't mean he's not listening to anybody.

If I will petition for GD, I will petition to hire people to help him so that he can improve the security or fix the issue about this matter, and not removing the entire game(but to suspend until the problem is done).

I understand your side, but you are not only against Robtop, but also the whole community specially the innocent players, I mean didn't you think the consequence of that?

And once GD completely disappears, they will destroy this site back didnt you think about that situation?

Wow... This blew up overnight literally... way to more than double the comments guys (btw some of you guys took it WAY too far on your comments, not going to name who).

As for Newgrounds history, it's been around since 1995, whereas your game is only the last 5 years or so. And the worst of it is is that the bad apples did not start outnumbering the good people (hint, go look at the contests done every year and see what you think the community would be without you guys, just look for yourselves) until around 2015 - 2016. Also, even though a minority of you guys in Geometry Dash are doing this, they have become the majority in the Audio Portal, causing the appearance of broken windows and has nearly dragged the audio portal down into anarchy. Also, on the copyright point of view - you are violating both major companies and the smaller producers here, and on the smaller producers here, you are also committing fraud by not asking before using the song and then also doing it repeatedly - this is effectively a Ponzi Scheme. You can look at the top of page 3 if you want to know what a Ponzi Scheme is.

And really, I don't know how much of a corner you have placed us in, especially with a rise in the crackdown of covers even. I wonder how many people actually bothered to read what was going on before posting your overboard hateful comments (sorry legitimate Geometry Dash users if I managed to catch you in the line of fire for this).

However, @Triosynx is correct, it shouldn't have had to take this in order to get ANYTHING out of anyone about ths situation.

I personally play Geometry Dash, but I'm not retarded like the ones who tries to upload copyrighted music onto this site. (I created my account here, just to be able to comment)
I didn't know much about Newgrounds for YEARS. I only knew a tiny bit about it through a retired youtube channel called ForFun808 (aka Aron with one ''A'') with his rants and his ''12 F Yous of....'' series.

I love the music out here on Newgrounds, stuff from Xtrullor, The Fat Rat, Waterflame, F-777, Dj-Nate, and so many more, and I have nothing but respect for them (despite the recent drama with Xtrullor, but I understand where he's coming from).

Well, that probably counts the ones who doesn't understand what art is (obviously the younger ones in the community)

I personally won't be signing the petition, because I wouldn't have found these great songs without GD.

The stuff I wrote, may not make much sense. But know that there are people in the GD community who are retards and there are people who are not retards. (I'd want to say sorry on behalf of the retarded ones, but I don't think I can)

Like I've said before, the music I've discovered on this site because of Geometry Dash. I'd give my ratings of 4 and 5 stars, because I can't stop listening to certain songs on repeat.

Never played the game meself, but I heard it is wildly hard. I joined NG for the non-mainstream content (and medal system). It ought to be a place for artists of all types to express themselves freely without being terrified of getting their stuff stolen or whatever. I'll sign to that.

I dislike how you're generalising us into one big group of people who just upload music without thinking. Some of us actually try helping out the audio portal by reporting any stolen audio that we find, and uploading our own work(Etzer, Fillipsmen, etc).

However, I have signed the petition as I feel that there is a need of urgency for the ones doing the wrong things to finally realise they need to stop, and RobTop to finally get a move on. It's about time something like this happened. I love Newgrounds, and I (kinda) like GD, I don't want to lose both, but if one has to be sacrificed for a greater good, I would do it gladly.

Yes it can? Do you not realize that RobTop paid for certain songs to be used in the game's main levels and for us to use in our own levels? Even if you guys cut yourselves off from GD, which could very well happen, we can still use those songs, such as Stereo Madness and Back on Track. You know, the ones RobTop PAID for.

This proves even more that 1) you're judging GD even though you know nothing about it, and 2) taking the ENTIRE game down is not the way to go about this.

Seriously, I'm fucking done with the GD community, even if I'm part of it.
- Death threats.
- Insults regarding all sorts of things (mothers, virginity, etc.).
- Egocentric and arrogant people saying that "GD made NG big and known", when it's completely false.
And much, much more.
This community is cancer. I told you on Twitter to be careful, because people were coming at you with hate comments, and said that you shouldn't even lose your time reading them. Then, I recieved a reply saying: "Which side are you on?"
I'll tell you which side I'm in. I want to resolve this peacefully, and treating us with respect. But, as you can see, it's impossible. I don't think that taking GD down from Steam was the best solution. However, I can understand that it was the only way you could really get heard. The troubles in the audio portal caused by GD inmature kids are very big. If I'm not wrong, over 2,000 songs are sent every day just for GD. This is unacceptable. I conglatulate you for taking the initiative, after failed attempts at contacting RobTop.
And the worst thing is that most people in the GD community think: "This doesn't make sense. GD is helping Newgrounds to be relevant and big, and now they do this with no reason. What's wrong with them?" No reason...no reason...if only I could show them the magnitude of the problem, they'd probably shut the fuck up.
I'm sorry for all the hate. I'm sorry for all the toxic people you're seeing, Troisinyx (idk how to mention sry). Not everyone is like that in the community.
