Troisnyx's News

It's a bit of trouble I've been having on Newgrounds since the first time I uploaded audio.

No matter how untransparent the GIF is (yes, even when the BG is all black with no layers, nothing), whenever I try to put a 46x46 GIF as an album image thing for any song of mine, it keeps on failing with this message:

Error: The GIF you used is transparent.

This picture below is one of the pictures I used in an attempt to get my songs to have a thumbnail image to them. Does that even look transparent to you?

Problepeño much?

Merlyne, Mark212 and I have started a music group together, and we've decided to call ourselves Kingdom of Herts.

(Herts is pronounced 'hearts', because the 'Hert' in 'Hertfordshire' is pronounced just like 'heart'.)

So the three of us have been working behind the screen for the big surprise *hint hint*. If it doesn't get released on Newgrounds, rest assured, we'd release it elsewhere.

I'm getting caught up with coursework too, and that is delaying my music production by quite a bit.

So here I am, just checking in, and moseying along once I have checked in.

This came to me as a rather pleasant surprise.

The beginning of Arise Once More...

...was used in a film which landed Daily Fifth Prize, known as Let's Creep!

My thanks go to DingoWalleyStudio for featuring my work, even if in part! I'm really honoured! This is my first ever Flash feature (chronologically speaking), and I'm glad and grateful that my audio is going somewhere.

On a related note, I must make things clear about the usage of my songs. I'll be more than willing to have my work featured in E- and T-rated submissions, but not beyond that (unless the Flash creators e-mail me about the purpose of their work). Personally speaking, I would not like my work to be associated with anything utterly subversive. Things like Let's Creep!, on the other hand, have come to me as a pleasant surprise not only because of the rating, but also because of the content, message and delivery of the Flash work itself.

Completely unrelated side note: I have an album idea at this time, as well as a special submission to finish for all of you on Newgrounds. I have two weeks to finish this special thing. What it is, I shall not tell. Some of you might find out eventually, but I'm keeping it hidden from Newgrounds for now. Please, stay tuned, and enjoy the music!

Also, I would love to thank everyone who's reviewed my works in recent times, particularly from the Review Request Club. ^_^

I don't know what the thing is about me and drums (or drum samples) - when I get my hands on a new drum sample, I have a tendency to play around with it a lot on FL Studio. Granted, the drum is my favourite instrument. But because of the amount of songs in that... how do you say it - that 'tribal' genre that I have been producing, at least one person has actually asked me if the drum really is for me.

Well, I don't know. I haven't played drums in a year because I don't have access to a kit (in case you're wondering, that display pic of mine is taken from a year or two ago), so if I feel like drumming, I sometimes resort to FL Studio, and this is pretty much the result of it.

To you, the reader: I'll be grateful if you do check these out. I really don't know what to say about this anymore.

My major submission is not even ready yet.
And it's not even going on NG *hint hint*.

LAG LAG LAG SEVERE LAG.

For starters, I've finally set up my Art section over the past few days. Now some of these works have either been done by hand and edited digitally, or drawn on DeviantArt Muro (yes, I love that programme a lot ^_^). I tend to use Muro a lot more for concept art or rough sketches, though I sometimes even handle the first round of colouring there. And I am a very, very slow artist - I have ideas for fully coloured works, but they can take ages to handle knowing my colouring speed and my attention span.

Art aside, we have these songs -

http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen /443668

The first one is a Hymmnos, whilst the second one is a piece involving rain. I did work on the second one a lot more - the first one was done completely on a whim.

I'm on and off the audio portal, and I've taken to reviewing works from newer or lesser known artists, and that probably explains the influx in audio favourites. Without being funny, you do listen to their work and you do wish that they were featured somewhere, perhaps in an outstanding Flash submission. That's pretty much what I felt with the unfeatured songs which landed into my favourites. And truly, though not everyone may like these songs, I'm aware that 1) tastes may differ, 2) people may not point out things that music theorists do. I'm doing my part to talk about them here - please, don't overlook them for too long. Feature their works in your Flash works, and you'll have everybody talking, and you'll leave these artists happy.

There always is room for love to be spread. I am going to help in a way which I can.

There are riots, copycat riots and instances of unrest all over England. Let's just hope and pray they don't spread to the rest of the UK. T_T

I'm glad that there are lots of people out there praying for the situation and for the people involved, picking up brooms and riot shields (as tea trays) to clean up the mess that has been made, and truly, we can see rays of hope in these situations. But for those whose livelihoods have been destroyed...... and for those whose lives have been lost (one so far, but the situation is still volatile)...

...

I have an idea, insignificant though it may be.

What if we spoke to the hearts of these people?

We all love songs, don't we? We all have come across songs about causes, haven't we? So too, do I want to sing about how futile it is to continue with the violence that is going on here in Britain. I want to sing something along the lines of 'Please, let us mend this broken land'.

I'm not a good lyricist, but I can come up with a tune. At the moment I've only got incomplete backing music. And I know that compared to the many other things that people do, this seems like nothing. But if it touches the hearts of at least some young people, if not all, that'll be a mission accomplished.

Please, do talk to me about this starting 22 August 2011 (I'll be away starting the 15th, but I'll be back on the 22nd). It doesn't matter if the situation has calmed down or if it's gone worse - the impression made on Britain is lasting, and the people who have been through it would still be there to tell us their horror stories. We've got to reach out to them.

I've set up a forum post here (http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1 265929) - please, do check it out in due time and let me know what you think. I'll be glad and grateful if I find at least a few people willing to stand by me on this one.

I have good news.

Today, a very dear friend of mine gave me FL Studio 9... AND 10 IN FULL.

That'd mean no more work getting lost, no more Westminster Tune ~ Preuve de foi situations where I lost the final result forever, and the ability to rework things at my own time and pace where needed... without having to lose the Fruity Soundfont Player.

I am now working on one of the few songs in my "urgent list" for Les Histoires Duchemin. The title is Arise Once More, and at the time I first made this and coined the title, I had just watched a DVD with the same title, and I felt deeply moved. I am intending for this to be a final victory theme of some sort, and I have a vague idea of the final result, but what will come out of this, I am not yet sure.

You might probably not see this, but... I really can't thank you enough. <3 You have pulled me out of a situation in which I otherwise couldn't help myself.

I'll make you proud with the OST I'm working on. I'll do my very best!
